From Scotch Corner (A1):

Travelling along the A1(N or S) at Scotch Corner take the A66 toward Penrith. In about 1.5 miles turn left - signposted Gilling West. After about 0.5 miles at foot of the hill the road kinks right onto a junction - turn left into Gilling West. Cross the bridge, and turn right onto Waters Lane after the telephone box. Drive with care along the lane for 0.25 miles Gilling Old Mill Cottages is the first group of buildings on the right hand side of the lane.

From Penrith, Cumbria (A66):

Along the A66 drive past Bowes Moor Hotel and in about 16 miles pass Fox Hall Inn (right-hand side of the A66)

After 2 miles turn right on to Forcett Lane (B6274) signposted Richmond and in just over 1 mile enter Gilling West and then follow village instructions further above. If you miss the B6274 turning drive on to the next crossroads signposted Gilling West/Richmond and follow the instructions as for the A1 above.
